Job summary

State Street is seeking an Alternative Settlements Operations Senior Associate to manage day-to-day settlements of alt assets, bank loans and whole loans via SWIFT, DTC and/or physical settlement. You will maintain data trackers and resolve inquiries promptly.

You will support research of exceptions, assist Client Operations and JV teams, and learn back-up procedures to ensure timely, accurate processing and risk mitigation across the settlement lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business-related field or Accounting/Finance preferred.
• SWIFT settlement experience preferred.
• Bank Loans and Whole Loans experience preferred.
• Strong computer competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio.
• Accuracy, attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Post trade requests to custody, accounting and related systems.
• Resolve data quality issues with accounting and client service groups.
• Process transactions according to procedures.
• Review work for accuracy and support offshore teams.
• Resolve trade and settlement discrepancies promptly.
• Respond to client, bank, counterparty inquiries.
• Suggest improvements for processing or procedures.
• Collaborate with internal units to resolve complex questions.
• Research issues and propose solutions.
• Identify and escalate unusual or potentially suspicious activity.
• Assist with other duties as required.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks to support supervisor.
