Job summary

State of Washington, Office of Administrative Hearings, Social & Health Services Division, seeks a Senior Administrative Law Judge to lead a team of ALJs. The role prioritizes fair hearings, training, and coordinating with divisions such as DCS, DCYF, and HCA.

Telework is possible part-time with in-person duties as needed. Candidate will supervise scheduling, leave, and case assignments, ensure timely orders, and maintain high professional standards while reporting to the Division Chief ALJ.

Qualifications

• Active or judicial membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
• Five (5) or more years' experience as a licensed attorney or judge.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ALJs, including Pro Tem, Line and Lead ALJs.
• Oversee caseloads across DCS, DCYF, HCA, LIC, MAGI, PA, WA Cares programs and more.
• Preside over hearings, issue timely and well-reasoned decisions, and train staff.
