Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer in Santa Clara to design and optimize ALD processes for next‑generation semiconductor nodes.

You will own ALD process development, drive integration, and work with cross‑functional teams and customers to turn device requirements into manufacturable solutions. The role requires hands‑on ALD experience, knowledge of vacuum systems and plasma sources, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7-10 years of related experience.
• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in complex problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, collect data, analyze, and compile reports on complex process experiments for multiple products.
• Characterize hardware and perform hardware characterization on multiple systems.
• Create process engineering specifications and internal/external documentation.
• Plan, execute process engineering projects within safety guidelines.
• Train engineers in measurement techniques and data interpretation.
• Engage with customers to resolve complex process issues with limited supervision.
• Lead development of new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision.
