Job summary

Applied Materials in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies. You will collect data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues.

You will work with vendors and customer teams, generate technical documentation, and collaborate with R&D on state-of-the-art projects, with opportunities for growth and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD preferred.
• >5 years of PVD, CVD, and/or ALD experience.
• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in complex problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage PVD, CVD, ALD systems within safety guidelines.
• Drive process and hardware development projects with limited to no supervision.
• Design, collect data, analyze, and compile reports on a wide range of complex process engineering experiments for multiple products.
• Utilize techniques, define methods, and apply new technologies to characterize hardware for multiple products.
• Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations, technical reports and create process engineering specifications.
• Develop, plan, and execute process engineering projects, within safety guidelines.
• Train engineers in measurement techniques of film properties and guide them in data interpretation and troubleshooting.
• Communicate with customers to resolve complex process engineering issues with limited supervision.
• Design and implement new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation.
• Identify and partner with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision.
• Lead functional teams or projects, as needed.
