Job summary

DCS Corp is seeking a Senior Airworthiness/Aerosystems Engineer to support AFLCMC/HBS/WIW and the AWACS division. You will provide airworthiness expertise, lead certification efforts, and coordinate with FAA and program offices to ensure compliance across the acquisition lifecycle.

The role requires deep knowledge of USAF airworthiness policies and military aircraft certification, with travel to Hanscom AFB and Seattle.

Qualifications

• Experience developing airworthiness certification artifacts, and associated flight authorization documentation.
• Knowledge of USAF airworthiness policies, directives, and how to define certification requirements and assess contractor compliance.
• Ability to evaluate aerospace designs for airworthiness, safety, and performance across lifecycle stages.
• Experience supporting Military Type Certification (MTC) activities including design reviews and certification recommendations.
• Skill in coordinating with FAA, AF certification authorities, and programs to define compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define airworthiness certification requirements and assess contractor compliance.
• Provide technical insight for airworthiness development and assist the program office.
• Assess design viability against airworthiness and identify issues with aircraft performance requirements.
• Define taskings, gather inputs, and report to the program office.
• Familiar with CFR Title 14 and DoD defense acquisition processes for CDA-based capabilities.
• Possess expertise in CDA and subsystem requirements for acquisition, integration, and fielding.
