Job summary

MWAA's Airport Planner Supervisor leads planning and design across multiple airports, guiding master plans, programs, and projects from pre-design through activation. You’ll coordinate with executives, consultants, and regulators to align budgets, schedules, and performance.

Strong communication and technical expertise are essential. Eight years of planning and project management experience, plus airport authority exposure, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in planning, pre-design, design, and construction, and project/program management for facilities.
• At least two years working directly for an airport or airport authority.
• Leadership and collaboration across a large or complex organization.
• Comprehensive knowledge of airport facility planning and operations.
• Knowledge of planning fields (space programming, site selection, construction) and coordinating work.
• Knowledge of sustainable airport planning/design practices (energy, materials, waste).
• Familiarity with building and fire codes, accessibility laws, and federal/state/local regulations.
• Ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Directs master planning efforts for physical development and redevelopment.
• Advises executive leadership on planning and programming requirements.
• Acts as technical expert for terminal, gate, concourse, and facility planning.
• Develops airport master/subarea plans for multiple airports and projects.
• Develops scope, schedule, and cost data; negotiates pre-design statements.
• Reviews airline space reallocations and gate configurations; assesses operational impacts.
• Leads environmental planning to support capital programs and historic preservation.
• Serves as COTR; manages consultants and oversees quality, schedule, cost control.
