Job summary

Sacramento County is seeking a Senior Airport Manager to direct and coordinate department-wide functions within the Department of Airports. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and oversee complex airport operations involving tenants, users, and agencies to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus multiple years of senior management experience in aviation or related fields, including marketing/public relations responsibilities and policy development.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of full-time paid experience as Airport Manager with the County of Sacramento.
• Three years of full-time paid management experience at an airport or in aviation.
• Three years of full-time paid management experience in retail property/tenant management or commercial real property leasing.
• Experience in communications, marketing, or public relations with policy planning and program development.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, supervise and coordinate department-wide functions within the Sacramento County Department of Airports.
• Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff.
• Develop, monitor and interpret budgets and other financial documents.
• Direct complex airport operations involving tenants, users, community, agencies and County departments.
• Make independent decisions regarding airport operations and public safety.
