Job summary

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking a Senior Airport Manager to oversee the safe, efficient operation of the Oceanside airport, including airside, landside, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. You will serve as the airport's primary liaison with tenants, pilots, vendors, and authorities.

In this role you will lead a team, develop operating procedures, monitor the budget, oversee subleases and contracts, and coordinate long-term airport development initiatives with KDG Aviation leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, airport management, public administration, business administration, transportation, engineering, or related field; equivalencies considered.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible airport operations, aviation administration, or transportation experience.
• Two+ years of supervisory, lead, or project management experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of airport operations, maintenance, emergency response, tenant/subtenant relations, and regulatory compliance.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to maintain airport driving privileges.
• Ability to pass background checks and security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily airport operations to ensure safe, secure, efficient, and reliable service for aircraft operators, tenants, employees, and visitors.
• Maintain positive relationships with the City of Oceanside and stakeholders for airport services and community relations.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, state, local regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee airfield inspections, fueling operations, safety programs, maintenance activities, and security procedures.
• Coordinate with tenants, pilots, vendors, law enforcement, fire and emergency services, and regulatory agencies.
• Lead, supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate airport staff and contractors.
• Develop and implement operating procedures, fueling procedures, emergency plans, safety practices, and continuity plans.
• Monitor and manage airport budget, subleases, permits, contracts, and revenue opportunities.
• Support construction projects and long-term airport development initiatives with KDG Aviation leadership.
• Respond to incidents, weather events, irregular operations, and stakeholder concerns.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for executive leadership and regulators.
• Promote safety, accountability, and professional conduct across all airport operations.
