Job description

Senior Airport Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Join our team as a Senior Airport Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at Salt Lake City Corporation. This full-time supervisory role involves managing maintenance functions, overseeing staff, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of airport infrastructure.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent, you will manage daily maintenance operations, supervise trades and crafts staff, and coordinate projects related to city-owned facilities and structures. This position requires an advanced understanding of maintenance work environments and supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and monitor maintenance programs for equipment, employees, and systems.
  • Assign projects, manage budgets, and oversee the maintenance of machinery, equipment, and structures.
  • Prepare reports, track labor hours, and utilize computer systems for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Train staff and subcontractors, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, evaluate equipment needs, and recommend upgrades or replacements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other divisions and tenants to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations, including ADA, EPA, OSHA, and building codes.
  • Supervise hiring, disciplinary actions, and employee performance documentation.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to meet maintenance goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience plus two years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance standards, practices, and relevant policies and codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, circuit diagrams, and manuals.
  • Valid Utah State Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and hazard prevention.
  • Strong supervisory, communication, and scheduling skills.
  • Computer literacy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an aviation environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
Working Conditions

Moderate physical activity, exposure to chemicals, heat, noise, and fumes, with potential for injury. Stress related to emergency response and 24/7 maintenance demands.

Additional Details

Salary range: $76,640 - $85,156 annually. Benefits include health insurance, paid leave, retirement contributions, tuition reimbursement, and more. Position type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, located in the Airport Department.
