Job summary

Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky facility in Stratford, CT, seeks a Design Engineer to develop components and production products for advanced rotary-wing aircraft. You will transform concepts into detailed designs, balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule, while coordinating with multiple teams.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong mechanical design fundamentals, and experience with 3D CAD, GD&T, and aerospace design principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college.
• 5+ years of professional aerospace or related mechanical design experience.
• 3+ years of CAD experience using Catia V5/V6 (3DX) for mechanical models.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and integrate with other design disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop major components and portions of functional systems, prototypes, and production products.
• Transform concepts into detailed designs while balancing performance, manufacturability, cost and schedule.
• Create preliminary layouts, sketches, models, and design concepts to communicate solutions.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and other groups.
