Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Stratford, CT is seeking an Airframe Design Engineer with an engineering degree and related experience to design metallic and composite airframe structures. You will develop basic data, preliminary layouts, and detail designs for helicopter fuselage components, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team through the product lifecycle.

Proficiency with CATIA V5 and 3Dx is preferred; US citizenship is required for ITAR-restricted programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education; 2 years of professional experience preferred.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design metallic and composite airframe structures and assemblies.
• Develop basic data, layouts, and detail designs for new parts and systems.
• Prepare 2D/3D drawings using CATIA V5 and 3Dx; apply GD&T.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across sites; support the product lifecycle.
• Occasional travel to support suppliers, customer meetings and reviews.
