Job summary

Flightstar is seeking a skilled Lead Aircraft Mechanic to lead and direct a maintenance crew, servicing and repairing aircraft and engines to FAA airworthiness standards. You will mentor junior mechanics through on-the-job training, ensure proper parts tagging and data availability, and coordinate with Production Control to maximize productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years in aircraft maintenance, familiarity with 14 CFR Part 91/121/145 preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; General Familiarization for B737 or A320 preferred.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant License in good standing preferred or eligibility for FAA repairman’s certificate or A&P application.
• Proficient in Flightstar’s ERP system (AMROS), vending systems (POU), and customer maintenance manual research.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the crew in aircraft maintenance to ensure airworthiness per FAA standards.
• Ensure proper parts tagging and routing per SOP.
• Confirm work scope and FAA data availability.
• Collaborate with Production Control to maximize crew productivity.
• Provide on-the-job training on maintenance and safety.
• Review non-routine work cards and estimate maintenance tasks.
• Maintain workflow of work documents and reports.
• Stay current on regulatory and customer training.
• Perform engine removal/installation and other licensed duties as needed.
• Use AMROS to locate components and follow instructions.
