Job summary

Garmin International in Salem, OR seeks a full-time Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician. You will coordinate and execute maintenance, forecast events, and lead inspections on large and small aircraft while mentoring junior technicians.

You will be a technical resource across departments, ensure regulatory compliance, and help manage scheduling and budgets. Strong leadership and 15+ years of aviation experience are required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of aviation maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and aviation experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Airframe and Powerplant certificate with Inspection Authorization (IA) rating.
• Ability to lead inspections and supervise junior technicians on large, multi‑engine aircraft.
• Understand and comply with FAR Title 14 CFR requirements.
• Prioritize and manage time‑sensitive responsibilities with strong communication.
• Mentor less‑experienced technicians and provide technical guidance.
• Willing to work overtime and a flexible schedule when needed.
• Experience interpreting complex wiring diagrams and aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute aircraft maintenance while ensuring FAA compliance.
• Forecast maintenance events, develop schedules, and prioritize tasks.
• Lead inspections on large and small aircraft and mentor juniors.
• Support engineering, R&D, and certification projects.
• Maintain aircraft records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Input into department budgeting and participate in recruiting as needed.
