Job summary
Peraton is seeking a senior engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace) with battery systems and S&T focus to provide remote support for our NAVAIR customer in Lexington Park, MD. The role involves development, evaluation, and certification of aircraft battery systems and collaboration with industry and academia partners.
You will review technical reports, assist with lab revitalization, and lead SBIR/STTR/NISE projects related to batteries while ensuring safety and compliance for Navy
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or similar.
- Experience with battery systems.
- 3+ years in aircraft battery systems (development and fielded).
- Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Support battery system development, evaluation, and certification.
- Review technical reports, contractor/vendor progress reports, test plans/reports, and safety letters.
- Lead or assist in Battery Test & Evaluation Lab (BTEL) revitalization and lab equipment integration.
- Evaluate replacement potential for diesel-powered equipment with battery-powered solutions.
- Lead SBIR/STTR/NISE efforts related to developmental battery systems.
