Job summary

Peraton seeks an experienced Air Vehicle Systems Engineer to provide Naval Aviation expertise for the NAVAIR customer at Patuxent Naval Air Station, Lexington Park, MD. This leadership role supports the Air System Group and PMO, applying aeromechanics, structures, materials, and several subsystems knowledge to airworthiness, acquisition, sustainment, and program management.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, conduct system reviews, manage risk, and guide engineers and contractors

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS in Engineering with 12 years' experience, or MS with 10 years; PhD with 7 years.
5 years in Naval Aviation Systems Engineering; 10 years preferred.
Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-high-priority environments and obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee Navy/DoD programs relating to research, acquisition, testing, and in-service and reengineering.
Provide systems engineering technical reviews, risk management, and requirements tailoring.
Coordinate across multiple teams and government activities to meet program objectives.
Develop technical approaches, cost estimates, and milestones for program objectives.
Represent the Air Vehicle Engineering Department in meetings with contractors and sponsors.
Ensure horizontal integration and data products to support interim flight clearances.
