Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Air Vehicle Systems Engineer to provide Naval Aviation expertise for the NAVAIR customer at Patuxent Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The role supports the Air System Group and the Air Vehicle Department, coordinating with multiple teams across sites to ensure airworthiness, acquisition, sustainment and program management.

The candidate will lead technical approach development, risk management, and vendor coordination, with responsibility for tradeoffs

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant engineering field from ABET-accredited university with 8 years experience; MS preferred with 6 years.
• 5 years experience in Naval Aviation Systems Engineering required; 10 years experience desired.
• Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple high-priority efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or oversee programs relating to naval acquisition, testing, evaluation, and sustainment.
• Perform systems engineering reviews, risk management, and technical evaluations.
• Coordinate with government and industry partners to resolve technical issues and guide tradeoffs.
• Develop technical approaches, cost estimates, manpower, and milestones for program objectives.
• Coordinate cross-discipline integration within the Air Vehicle Engineering Department.
