North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality seeks an Environmental Engineer II (NS) in the Fayetteville Regional Office, Division of Air Quality. The role coordinates regional permitting activities, reviews complex non-Title V permits, performs inspections, and ensures compliance with state and federal air regulations.

The position offers a hybrid telework arrangement, opportunities for leadership, and a pathway to professional registration.

Competenze

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering and three years of progressively responsible experience.
May require registration as a professional engineer with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
Strong computer skills, customer relations, and independent judgment are required.

Mansioni

Serve as regional permits coordinator and manage data related to air permit reviews.
Review and write complex non-Title V permits, including technical reviews of drawings and data.
Perform compliance inspections for Title V facilities and prepare technical reports and correspondence.
Advise air quality staff and stakeholders on regulatory issues and permit conditions.
