Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking a senior environmental professional to lead complex air permitting and compliance programs across NSR, PSD, Title V and state regulations. The role involves regulatory reviews, permitting strategies, regulator coordination, and strong client relationship management.

The candidate will prepare technical proposals, support business development, mentor junior staff, and oversee project teams across multiple sites, requiring travel and independent work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science or related field is required.
• 4+ years of experience in air quality compliance, permitting and regulatory programs.
• Experience in environmental consulting or industry with knowledge of local air districts, Title V, and RECLAIM facilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, travel as needed and work independently.
• Strong ability to interpret and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance.
• Experience managing multiple projects and developing client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across client locations.
• This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Job description

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in air quality compliance, permitting, and regulatory programs.
• Environmental consulting or industry experience, with working knowledge of local air districts, state and federal programs, Title V, and RECLAIM facilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay flexible, travel as needed, and work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong ability to interpret and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance.
• Proven experience managing multiple projects and developing long-term client relationships.
• Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle, as the role involves travel across client locations.
• This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

• Experience in sectors such as energy transition, oil and gas, chemicals, technology, manufacturing, or mining.
• Familiarity with AERMOD, GIS, health risk assessments, CEQA, and other compliance programs.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Professional certification such as P.E., CSP, CHMM, or similar.
