Job summary

MAT Holdings, Inc. is seeking a mechanical design engineer to lead the design, development and launch of new air compressors. You will apply Creo 3D and strong project management to deliver robust products from concept through pilot runs.

The role requires collaboration across teams, adherence to UL 1450 / CSA C22.2 compliance, and hands-on problem solving with a focus on cost efficiency and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of design engineering experience, preferably with air compressors or power tools.
• Experience with gas/electric motor driven products.
• Experience in new product development processes (Stage Gate or Milestones).
• Experience in or knowledge of UL 1450 / CSA C22.2 compliance.
• Knowledge of ASME pressure vessels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Utilize sound engineering practices to create innovative equipment designs that align with customer requirements, industry standards, and design codes.
• Evaluate existing designs and identify deficiencies in mechanical processes and develop improvements.
• Design and develop prototypes.
• Analyze and test prototypes at each revision of a design.
• CAD of components and assemblies using CREO 3D.
• Develop, initiate and manage all phases of projects.
• Prepare documentation of critical analysis and provide suggestions for correcting errors.
• Collaborate with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources.
• Review lab and field test failures, correct designs, and provide guidance for product improvement.
