Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its AIOps platform to design, build, and operate an agent-based observability and automation framework. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, reliable production systems and scalable automation.

The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering across the agent runtime, tool interfaces, and telemetry, with senior decision‑making authority and a focus on production reliability and security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
• Typically eight or more years of related experience in software engineering, platform engineering, distributed systems, DevOps, AIOps, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated strength in software engineering and distributed-systems design with reasoning about interfaces, state, and failure modes.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently make implementation decisions within architecture standards.
• Experience developing production-grade agentic systems or automated control loops.

Responsibilities

• Apply mature software engineering practices across the agent runtime, tool layer, APIs, and operator experience.
• Design and evolve the agent platform architecture; maintain interface standards and evaluate tradeoffs.
• Build and operate the core agent runtime including event ingestion, planning, tool invocation, and response handling.
• Define and implement controls for agent actions with safety boundaries and approval workflows.
• Develop telemetry, logging, metrics, and traces for production observability.
