Job summary
Insight Global is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for a US-remote role with travel. You will sit between Sales and delivery, shaping multi-million dollar AI transformation programs, co-design solutions with executive sponsors, and lead production AI systems from discovery through deployment.
Half your time is with clients, half hands-on coding. You should have 4–12 years shipping production AI/ML in Fortune 500 or regulated environments, plus strong Python, cloud, and data platform
Qualifications
- 4 to 12 years of engineering experience shipping production AI/ML in real customer environments.
- Deep domain experience delivering complex software or AI solutions inside Fortune 500 or regulated enterprises in at least one of: Telecommunications, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Financial Services, or Technology.
- Hands-on experience with modern LLM systems including prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning and adapters; ability to argue for best tool choices.
- Production-grade Python proficiency; working knowledge of at least one major cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
- Solid foundation in classical ML and data engineering (feature pipelines, evaluation, ETL, vector stores).
- Pre-sales and solutioning experience; led discovery and SOW shaping with enterprise buyers.
- Strong executive communication; capable of presenting to Boards and CTOs, and explaining model failure modes to CROs.
- Consulting-grade delivery instincts; comfortable with ambiguity and shipping decisions.
- Willingness to travel up to ~25% to client sites in the U.S.; authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Sits between Sales and delivery to scope, sell, and deliver multi-million dollar AI transformation programs.
- Split time: ~50% in front of clients and the other half coding, building reference architectures, prototypes, and production systems.
- Co-design solutions with executive sponsors and partner with Account Executives and Customer Sales Engineers.
- Lead discovery, scoping, and SOW shaping with enterprise buyers; defend architecture decisions in executive reviews.
- Own the technical narrative from first discovery through post-deployment expansion.
