Job summary

CloudZero in Boston is seeking a senior data platform engineer to own the data and AI platform powering the company. You’ll build governed pipelines into Snowflake, model surfaces for analysts and agents, and ensure real identity and cost attribution across AWS, Snowflake, and SaaS.

You’ll own the underpinnings—OKTA, Jamf, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Ravenna—while enabling self-serve data products and trusty data quality, lineage, and access control. Hybrid work available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering and infrastructure.
• Snowflake experience as analytical warehouse and governance substrate.
• Real modeling with dbt or equivalent, tested and version-controlled.
• Orchestration experience (Dagster, Airflow, Prefect).
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals; IaC at scale.
• Hands-on production AI/LLM with agents and RAG.

Responsibilities

• Ingest from SaaS and cloud billing sources with schema drift handling.
• Develop a modeled warehouse with conformed dimensions and semantic layer."ARR" -> single number.
• Implement data quality as a product with freshness SLAs and lineage.
• Governance in Snowflake RBAC, masking, and identity inheritance from Okta.
• Provide cost visibility per team and per agent; build self-serve data products.
