Job summary

Pyramid Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer/Developer – AI to lead strategy, design, and delivery of large-scale mission-critical AI systems for federal programs.

You will own enterprise architecture, governance, and innovation, with hands-on Python AI/ML expertise across cloud-native, distributed environments. You will define reference architectures, guide cross-program decisions, and mentor senior engineers while collaborating with federal stakeholders on risk management

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibility.
• 8+ years of applied AI/ML experience including production systems (LLMs).
• Expert-level Python development and production-grade ML pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) in FedRAMP contexts.
• Active clearance (Public Trust, Secret, or higher) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define AI and application architecture across programs as primary technical authority.
• Lead end‑to‑end design, development, and deployment of AI systems.
• Oversee MLOps, CI/CD, and secure software supply chains.
• Advise SES-level federal stakeholders on AI adoption and risk.
• Architect scalable ML systems and full-stack AI applications.
