Job summary

Talanto is seeking an experienced Storage Systems Engineer to design and implement distributed storage for AI workloads at scale. You’ll build exabyte-scale, S3-compatible storage and integrate clusters into diverse customer environments.

You will work with RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, NFS/FS, Ceph/DAOS, and Kubernetes while improving reliability, observability, and performance across the stack. Mentoring and cross-team collaboration are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in storage systems engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with object storage or distributed filesystems in production.
• Experience with storage protocols (e.g. S3, NFS) and file systems like Ceph or DAOS.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed storage solutions to support scaling data-intensive AI workloads.
• Develop exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage and integrate storage clusters into diverse environments.
• Work with RDMA, GPU Direct Storage and distributed FS protocols to optimize performance.
• Improve reliability, durability, security, and observability of the storage stack.
• Collaborate with operations to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve storage systems.
• Set metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into storage performance and health.
• Analyze telemetry and system data to drive throughput, latency, and resilience improvements.
• Collaborate across platform, product, and infra teams to deliver storage capabilities.
• Mentor engineers on best practices for building distributed, high-performance systems.
