Job summary

Staples is seeking a Senior AI Solution Architect to lead AI-enabled initiatives across Marketplace operations, product, and commercial teams. This hands-on, production-focused role emphasizes rapid prototyping, validation with real data, and scalable deployment in partnership with Technology and Data/AI teams.

You will embed with cross-functional groups, drive measurable business value, and mentor peers while operating on-site in Framingham, MA. A relocation option is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technical solution development.
• Experience building and deploying AI/ML or data-driven solutions in a business/enterprise setting.
• Experience delivering prototypes from concept to validation with business stakeholders.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and working with unstructured data.

Responsibilities

• Embed within Marketplace operations, product, and commercial teams to understand workflows and nuances.
• Identify, define, and prioritize AI and automation opportunities based on impact and feasibility.
• Translate problems into structured technical approaches and build plans.
• Develop rapid prototypes or proofs of concept using AI/ML tooling and internal platforms.
• Validate solutions with real-world data and workflows to demonstrate measurable value.
• Partner with Technology and Data/AI teams to scale validated prototypes into production.
• Bridge business and technical teams, ensuring clear requirements and context.
