Job summary

Staples Advantage Canada in Framingham, MA, seeks a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineering Manager who embeds with Marketplace teams to rapidly deliver AI-enabled solutions. This is a hands-on builder role, not a traditional roadmap role, working with Business, Product, Tech, and Data/AI partners to turn problems into scalable prototypes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 10+ years of software engineering or technical solution development experience.
• Experience building and deploying AI, machine learning, automation, or data-driven solutions in an enterprise.
• Experience delivering working prototypes from concept through validation.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Embed within Marketplace operations, product, and commercial teams to understand end-to-end workflows and real-world nuances.
• Identify, define, and prioritize AI and automation opportunities based on business impact and feasibility.
• Translate ambiguous problems into structured technical approaches and plan development.
• Develop and deploy rapid prototypes or proofs of concept using internal platforms and AI/ML tooling.
• Validate solutions with real-world data and workflows to show measurable value.
• Partner with Technology and Data/AI teams to scale prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Bridge business stakeholders and technical teams to maintain clear requirements and context.
• Drive adoption through rollout, iteration, and performance measurement.
• Establish and track success metrics tied to business outcomes like efficiency and revenue impact.
• Contribute learnings and frameworks to enterprise platforms.
• Lead or coordinate multiple high-impact initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to capability building.
