Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of secure, production-grade AI applications, improving engineering workflows with RAG-based knowledge and cost-aware design.

You will collaborate with Data, IT, security, and NPI teams to move prototypes to scalable products while upholding strict governance and observability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, or related field.
• 7+ years software engineering experience.
• Hands-on with LLM-powered apps and agentic architectures.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, or Java; API design and data integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and operational support.
• Experience integrating enterprise data sources and building data pipelines.
• Strong communication and leadership; travel up to 10%.
• Preferred: experience in manufacturing or NPI environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy production-quality AI applications and agents.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) services and a guided knowledge layer.
• Create deterministic agents with human review and clear escalation paths.
• Establish evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and cost-management practices.
• Partner with data and enterprise teams to connect AI apps to PLM, ERP, MES, and data sources.
• Design secure APIs, services, connectors, and data contracts.
• Own the target architecture, technical roadmap, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Mentor engineers, communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders, and grow the capability.
