Job summary

Citi London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - AI Products (SVP) to own end-to-end AI software delivery in a regulated banking environment. You will build production-grade systems for intelligent document processing, data extraction, translation and workflow optimization, collaborating with product, risk and engineering teams.

You’ll design scalable architectures, evaluate models and prompts, mentor engineers, and ensure resilience, explainability and auditability while shipping reliable

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or similar senior role.
• Hands-on software engineering with production systems experience.
• Strong Python development skills and production-grade delivery.
• Practical Generative AI and LLM experience in real-world problems.
• Experience with prompts design, data extraction, NLP, translation or workflow automation.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern delivery tooling.
• Able to work in a regulated banking environment with resilience and auditability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support production-grade AI software and services at scale.
• Own end-to-end technical solutions from problem definition to deployment.
• Develop Generative AI solutions for document processing, data extraction, translation and workflow optimization.
• Evaluate models, prompts and architectures; productionise effective approaches.
• Lead AI product design and architecture, ensuring resilience and auditability.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Engineering and AI platform teams to meet regulatory needs.
• Shape product vision and technical strategy with senior stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and promote strong engineering practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in performance, reliability and scalability.
