Job summary

Baton Market Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to build agentic AI-powered features for our NYC-based marketplace.

You will ship full-stack AI capabilities that buyers and sellers interact with daily, collaborating with product and operations to translate business needs into impactful software. You’ll own end-to-end AI initiatives, work across the stack, and contribute to production-grade systems with measurable outcomes, including latency, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Shipped and owned production AI systems end-to-end (LLM and/or classic ML).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with Python and production model integration.
• Track record of shipping from concept to production with measurable impact.
• Strong product sense and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Comfort in ambiguity and ability to create clarity with limited structure.

Responsibilities

• Ship full-stack AI features end to end — from scoping with stakeholders to deploying agentic systems.
• Own 0-to-1 projects, collaborating with sales & operations to identify opportunities.
• Build and improve agentic infrastructure for production-level inference, evaluation, monitoring.
• Work across the stack to integrate AI into the marketplace with clean interfaces.
• Develop tools and systems that scale from intelligent matching to document understanding.
