Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. AI Security Software Engineer for Starshield to apply AI in automating security tasks and ensuring safe AI integration across Starshield infrastructure.

You will design secure, AI-driven agents and work with cross-functional teams to strengthen defense of space-based systems. The role requires deep expertise in security software and AI, with responsibilities spanning design, testing, and deployment of secure AI integrations for enterprise-scale systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirement or extensive experience in security software development
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems or large-scale infra
• Experience designing and implementing solutions with LLMs, LLM-based agents, or AI topics

Responsibilities

• Design and build security-critical agents for Starshield that automate network and systems defense
• Leverage AI to discover and fix security issues in Starshield infrastructure and systems
• Provide guidance and testing of AI integrations into new and existing Starshield systems
• Identify new areas of the program where security improvements can be gained via automation and AI
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via direct implementation and recommendations to other teams
