Job summary

WilmerHale is seeking a Senior AI Defense Engineer to lead security strategy for AI across the firm’s environments. You will translate emerging AI threats into robust defenses, guardrails, and enforcement layers, while mentoring engineers and guiding tool evaluations for enterprise AI security.

The role requires hands-on experience with cloud platforms and AI security controls, and collaboration with legal, security, and engineering teams to ensure secure AI deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security or related field.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of AI security controls and governance.

Responsibilities

• Threat modeling & risk assessment for AI/ML systems.
• Evaluate and operationalize security controls for AI services.
• Conduct adversarial testing and red-teaming for AI endpoints and agents.
• Integrate security tooling into existing security stacks (SIEM, SOAR, EDR).
• Lead incident response and forensics for AI systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security leadership on AI security standards.
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for AI security engineering.
