Job summary

Tenable is seeking an AI Security Engineer to shape security for AI across Tenable’s products and enterprise. You will design controls for AI systems, lead assessments, and build tooling to strengthen security posture.

Collaborate with software engineers, and product teams to embed security in AI development across the SDLC. This role emphasizes hands-on AI engineering, model internals, and security governance to ensure transparent and aligned AI outputs while keeping up with evolving threats

Qualifications

• 5+ years in information or application security, with AI/ML focus.
• 1–2 years securing AI/ML systems.
• Master’s degree in CS/Cybersecurity/Data Science or related field preferred.
• Deep understanding of AI security threats and risks.
• Strong coding skills in Python and/or Go.
• Experience with PyTorch, Transformers, TensorFlow or equivalent.
• Familiarity with interpretability tools such as TransformerLens, Captum, LIT.
• Knowledge of SSDLC, DevSecOps, and security testing practices.
• Experience with Docker and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for AI systems across the lifecycle.
• Lead AI safety assessments and threat modeling for AI/ML systems.
• Develop guardrails and boundary mechanisms for LLMs/SLMs and open models.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to embed security in AI development.
• Drive SSDLC and DevSecOps for AI-powered products and CI/CD security.
