Job summary

Ripple is seeking a Senior Staff Security Engineer focused on AI Security in New York, NY. You will be the deepest technical expert at the intersection of AI and security, guiding security controls across the AI development lifecycle and shaping Ripple's external posture on AI security.

You will own the strategy for AI security, build AI-powered tooling, and collaborate with Engineering and Product to embed robust guardrails, risk assessments, and governance into Ripple's AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of security engineering experience across multiple domains.
• Hands-on AI/ML security experience; knowledge of prompt injection, data poisoning, and tool poisoning.
• Experience securing agentic AI systems, including sandboxing and runtime monitoring.
• Strong cloud security, CI/CD, container/Kubernetes, IAM, and API security knowledge.
• Threat modeling frameworks (STRIDE, MITRE ATLAS, OWASP LLM Top 10).
• FinTech/crypto regulatory exposure a plus, with NYDFS, MAS, or SOC 2 context.
• Collaborating across Engineering, Product, and Security to define strategy.

Responsibilities

• Drive the AI Security strategy and roadmap for Ripple's AI systems.
• Design and implement security controls for LLM-integrated and agentic AI systems.
• Lead security reviews and risk assessments for AI integrations.
• Develop Shadow AI detection and enforce the AI acceptable use policy.
• Engage regulators and publish research to advance industry standards.
