Job summary

Algolia, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Search team, focusing on NeuralSearch capabilities and distributed system challenges. You will design, build, and operate scalable search components, including on-call duties, as part of a distributed, largely remote team with flexible work options.

You bring strong experience in distributed systems, large-scale data, and high-code quality, with excellent English communication. The role offers remote, hybrid, or Paris-office options.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
• Experience working with large datasets and high traffic.
• Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
• Experience at our current stage and beyond with ARR in the $50–200M range.

Responsibilities

• Be a key contributor to the design and development of search at Algolia.
• Be responsible for operations for search including on-call duties.
• Collaborate with a fully-remote team or in hybrid/office settings (Paris).
• Ensure the quality and soundness of the system.
• Share expertise on distributed systems and work with other teams to resolve high-impact issues.
