Job summary

Algolia is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Search team. You will design and operate the cloud-based scalable architecture for NeuralSearch, our AI search engine, supporting a high-traffic, globally distributed user base.

The role offers full-remote or hybrid options, requires strong English communication, and emphasizes code quality, automated testing, and on-call responsibilities as part of the operations of the Search system.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
• Experience working with large datasets and high traffic.
• Rigour in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
• Experience in Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the Search and Indexing systems.
• Operate the Search system and participate in on‑call rota.
• Work with a fully remote team with flexible location options.
• Ensure the quality and soundness of the system.
• Share expertise on distributed systems across teams.
• Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve high Impact issues.
