Job summary

Cleveland Clinic seeks a Senior or Staff AI Scientist to develop and translate advanced AI solutions across surgery, perioperative care, clinical research, and healthcare operations. This role collaborates with surgeons, clinicians, and enterprise AI teams to deploy AI in the operating room and perioperative environments, using surgical video, medical imaging, and EHR data.

Qualifications

PhD in computer science, engineering, data science, biomedical informatics, robotics, applied mathematics, statistics, or related field.
Advanced knowledge of machine learning and deep learning with deep expertise in at least one area.
Strong ability to communicate with clinicians, researchers, engineers, and operational leaders.
Experience developing and validating models using real-world data.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and validate ML models for surgical, perioperative, clinical, and operational use.
Advance computer vision, multimodal learning, generative AI, and real-time decision support.
Build, extend, and maintain multimodal data ingestion and training pipelines.
Ensure responsible AI practices, privacy, and bias evaluation across projects.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams from development to deployment.
