Job summary

The Federal Reserve Board seeks a seasoned Data Scientist to lead analytic projects and predictive modeling using data mining techniques. You will design and optimize algorithms for pattern recognition, and oversee large-scale research through all stages from concept to final report.

The role requires expert-level skills in Python, SQL, and R, plus experience with NLP and big data, driving data-driven decisions across divisions. This position is based in Washington, DC with relocation provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus six years of experience.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of advanced theoretical and quantitative techniques in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline.
• Extensive experience with analytical and statistical software packages (R, MATLAB, or SAS).
• Extensive experience with programming languages (Python, Java, or SQL).
• Experience with large datasets and data quality control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of analytic projects and predictive modeling using data mining techniques.
• Lead the design and optimization of algorithms for matching and pattern recognition.
• Lead large-scale analytical research projects through all stages; form hypotheses, select methods, manipulate data, evaluate results, and report findings.
• Design, build, and leverage large and complex data sets for analysis.
• Lead transformation of large-scale datasets for analysis and discovery.
