Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Scientist - Applied AI to lead AI initiatives within the Card Genesis team. You will collaborate with product, tech, and design to deploy state-of-the-art Gen AI models at massive scale across 80+ million customers.

The role emphasizes NLP, LLMs, transformer architectures, and a hands-on engineering mindset. You’ll guide cross-functional teams, translate complex model logic into business value, and drive innovations from research to production.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field with data analytics or ML experience.
• Strong experience in training or deploying LLMs and AI models at scale.
• Proven leadership and ability to drive cross-functional AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with data scientists, engineers, and PMs to deliver AI-powered products.
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS and other tools to extract insights from large data.
• Serve as NLP expert to fine-tune LLMs for customer-facing features.
• Develop Gen AI and sequence models from design to production.
• Translate complex model decisions into business outcomes.
