Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Science Leader to guide a portfolio of AI products and define the long-term AI strategy at enterprise scale. You will design experiments, model telemetry, and translate results into executive guidance while leading a team of researchers and engineers across cloud and on-premises platforms.

You will partner with software engineers, researchers, and architects to drive decisions through modeling, shaping an end state that embraces digital technologies and open source

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 11 years of data analytics experience.
• At least 6 years of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis.
• At least 6 years of experience working with machine learning.
• At least 6 years of experience utilizing relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team to drive decisions through modeling.
• Define end state based on simplicity, digital tech, cloud hosting and open source software.
• Distill complex modeling systems for senior leaders on strategy, use and risk.
• Assess, challenge and defend state-of-the-art decision-making systems with internal and regulatory partners.
• Shape the practice of building ML models from design through training, evaluation and implementation.
• Oversee development of benchmark and challenger models to stress test key decisions.
