Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Manager, Data Science to lead and grow a high-impact Applied AI team. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver personalized, data-driven customer experiences at scale.

You’ll design and deploy ML models using a broad tech stack (Python, Conda, AWS, Spark, H2O), translating complex insights into business outcomes and measurable value for customers and the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a quantitative field + 6 years analytics experience
• Master’s or MBA with quantitative concentration + 4 years analytics experience
• PhD in quantitative field + 1 year analytics experience
• At least 1 year of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large scale data analysis
• At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning
• At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love
• Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more to reveal insights in large datasets
• Build machine learning models through all phases: design, training, evaluation, validation, implementation
• Translate the complexity of work into tangible business goals
