Job summary

NVIDIA Halos seeks a Senior SW Safety Engineer to join the HALOS team, unifying autonomous machine architecture, AI models, chips, software, tools, and services to enable safe AI deployment. You will work across NVIDIA’s DRIVE platform, collaborating with automotive safety groups and safety-critical teams.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence and SW safety related processes, methodologies, tools.
• Experience in AI safety methods and tools (adaptability testing, uncertainty evaluation, out of distribution detection, etc.).
• Familiarity with system software development and embedded platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience reviewing existing processes and identifying gaps for improvements.
• Experience producing safety plans, safety analyses, safety case documentation, and evidence packets for safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Be pivotal in ensuring the safety of our AI-based autonomous system software.
• Engage with a diverse team of engineers across the DRIVE platform and related research units, including automotive functional safety groups.
• Collaborate with robotics, humanoids, industry safety teams and other safety critical applications.
• Guide teams to specify, build, implement, and verify safety requirements across software stack from drivers to AI technologies.
• Help implement Product Life Cycle integrating AI safety process principles.
• Engage in customer interaction and international standardization activities related to AI safety.
• Support system safety activities including decomposition of safety requirements and architectural safety analysis across hardware/software boundaries.
