Job summary

Convergent Research is partnering with EQL Tech to identify an outstanding AI Resilience Partner. You will build and own a growing portfolio of FROs and scientific projects that advance AI resilience, balancing societal benefits with risk mitigation.

The role offers latitude to define the portfolio while leveraging resources to accelerate impact. You will form strong theses, recruit extraordinary founders, raise funding, and coach teams across technical and organizational roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the AI landscape in 2026 and beyond
• Strong ability to identify tractable, high-impact resilience bottlenecks
• Experience in strategy development for frontier tech initiatives
• Proven capacity to raise funds, run budgets, and hire teams
• Excellent board governance and nonprofit leadership exposure
• Clear, fast, effective communication with diverse stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Roadmap the AI resilience landscape and identify keystone capabilities
• Source ideas, perform diligence, and design funding calls with funders
• Build founding teams and recruit early hires who shape the projects
• Coach founders on technical and organizational roadmaps, fundraising, and startup ops
• Serve as a Director on multiple FRO boards and guide strategic decisions
• Represent Convergent externally and cultivate relationships with funders
• Contribute to Founder Retreats and Residency programs
