Cisco’s AI Research team seeks a Senior AI Researcher to advance Generative AI for networking applications, privacy, and model safety. You will publish foundational work, lead projects, and collaborate across Cisco’s ecosystem to deploy research breakthroughs into practical solutions.

The role emphasizes building domain-specific representations, contributing to the research community, and influencing product strategies across networking and observability domains.

Qualifications

• LLM pre-training and post-training experience in industry or academic labs.
• Minimum of 3 publications in top AI venues (ACL, EMNLP, ICLR, ICML, NAACL, NeurIPS).
• Experience with MLMs and related frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face).
• Past experience driving research projects in industry or university labs (full-time or internship).

Responsibilities

• Build purpose-built LLMs for Cisco’s networking, security, data center, and observability domains.
• Drive pre-training initiatives for foundational models with differentiating value.
• Publish research in top venues and present at workshops and conferences.
• Collaborate with engineers and strategists to translate research into products.
