Cisco is seeking a Senior Lead AI Researcher to architect proprietary intelligence for global networking and security. You will lead end-to-end pre-training of foundational models, bridging generative AI research with real‑world infrastructure and product features.

You will publish in top AI venues, collaborate with engineers and strategists, and help define Cisco’s technology leadership while working in a hybrid model from Seattle or San Jose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in STEM with 12+ years, or Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years research.
• Experience leading or contributing to at least one full-cycle pre-training for an LLM or foundational model, including dataset curation and training.
• 3+ peer-reviewed publications in top AI venues (ACL, EMNLP, ICLR, ICML, NAACL, NeurIPS).
• 3+ years using PyTorch or TensorFlow to train models on distributed GPU clusters.
• 2+ years applying ML to networking, data center, security, or observability datasets.

Responsabilités

• Bridge research to real-world infrastructure, guiding end-to-end pre-training initiatives.
• Drive pre-training to create purpose-built models for Cisco’s scale and security needs.
