Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking an AI Product Counsel to shape how frontier AI moves from research to products used worldwide. You will partner with product teams, spanning models like ChatGPT and Codex, across consumer and workplace offerings and regulated verticals.

The role is hybrid with three in-office days per week in San Francisco or Washington, DC, with remote candidates considered and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology or in-house legal roles.
• JD and CA license required.
• Strong ability to partner with product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to counsel for frontier AI models and products.
• Identify and address product, regulatory, privacy, and other legal risks and mitigations.
• Develop strategies for scalable risk management in innovative AI offerings.
• Serve as an expert in AI legal matters and contribute to policy positions.
