Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced AI Product Counsel to shape how frontier AI moves from research to products used globally. You will partner with product teams developing new models and experiences, including ChatGPT and Codex, across consumer and workplace offerings.

The role is based in San Francisco or Washington, D.C., with a hybrid schedule (three days in the office per week). Remote candidates will be considered, and relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technology-focused law or related practice.
• JD and California bar license required.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to counsel for frontier AI models and products across multiple teams.
• Identify and address product, regulatory, privacy, copyright, and other legal risks.
• Develop strategies for scalable, flexible legal processes and risk mitigations.
• Advise on AI policy positions and regulatory developments.
