Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Engineer to lead AI infrastructure and platform services in the Gen AI space.

You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs to deliver AI-powered products, oversee model training, inference, guardrails, evaluation, and observability, and shape the technical roadmap. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in AI/ML with leadership experience, strong systems and software engineering foundations, and a passion for responsible AI.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 6+ years' AI/ML experience.
At least 1 year of people leadership experience.
Experience deploying AI at scale on cloud platforms.
Experience building agentic AI systems and workflows.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components.
Decide build vs buy across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
Innovate model optimization techniques for scale and cost.
Contribute to long-term AI platform roadmap and talent development.
Operationalize Responsible AI with gates and governance.
Collaborate with Research, Data, and Platform teams.
