Job summary

Anaplan is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to build and lead our Enterprise Grade AI Platform. You will drive the conversational AI, Generative and agentic AI roadmap, managing a team of engineers while remaining hands-on yourself.

This role combines leadership with deep technical execution to solve complex AI problems. You will own the team's delivery roadmap, work with product management on prioritization, and establish best practices for AI development including testing,

Qualifications

• Software engineering leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI applications in production.
• Deep knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and conversational AI patterns.
• Experience with agentic frameworks and autonomous agent architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and modern software development practices (testing, code review, CI/CD).
• Track record of delivering complex technical projects on time with high quality.
• Strong project management skills with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and build cohesive, productive teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI engineers (5-8), driving technical excellence and delivery.
• Own end-to-end execution of conversational AI features enabling interaction with Anaplan models via natural language.
• Oversee development of autonomous AI systems to analyze data, generate insights, and execute planning workflows.
• Own the team’s delivery roadmap; collaborate with product management to prioritise features and trade-offs.
• Establish engineering best practices for AI development, testing, evaluation, and deployment patterns.
• Lead sprint planning, design reviews, and retrospectives to maintain velocity and quality.
• Collaborate with AI Solutions Architects to translate architecture into executable plans.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI apps including testing and regression suites.
• Partner with platform teams to ensure AI features integrate with core infrastructure.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
