Job summary

Nordstrom Technology’s AI Enablement team seeks a Senior Engineer to design and deliver AI platform capabilities, enabling Generative AI at scale with safety and reliability. The role spans architecture, implementation, and mentorship across engineers, shaping the technical direction and driving developer productivity to achieve business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Python proficiency and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design AI platform solutions integrated with developer tools, cloud services, LLM providers, and observability systems.
• Own systems spanning multiple engineers' work and break down complex problems into smaller tasks.
• Make technical trade-offs between short-term needs and long-term objectives across design, components, databases, and systems.
• Champion new techniques and best practices across the organization.
• Lead design reviews and document system interactions in detail.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams.
