Job summary

Kinetic is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Platform team. You will build and enhance the platform that powers every Kinetic AI agent, spanning from broker submissions to underwriting and claims.

You will own the orchestration layer, tooling, evaluation infrastructure, and guardrails, delivering safe, measurable improvements. This hands-on role reports to the Tech Lead - Data & AI and requires deep experience with multi-agent systems, Python, and serverless architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• 6+ years software engineering experience.
• 2+ years building LLM-powered systems in production.
• Strong Python on serverless (AWS preferred) and IaC/CI‑CD.
• Hands-on experience with multi-agent systems and agent frameworks.
• Experience building evaluation/observability for LLM systems.
• Clear communicator able to explain probabilistic systems to business partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the agent orchestration layer (routing, memory, permissions, guardrails).
• Manage agents with prompts, tools, and model versions in CI/CD with cost/latency tracking.
• Develop MCP servers and tools for secure Salesforce, Athena, and claims data access with PHI/PII redaction and audit logs.
• Create evaluation harness and rollout gates for production-quality changes.
• Implement human-in-the-loop checkpoints for critical decisions.
• Replatform or retire legacy AI scripts/workflows in use.
• Set technical standards and review agent designs and code; mentor engineers.
• Evaluate when to use/buy vs build new AI systems and components.
